We have a team of Texas Commissioned Online Notaries ready to help you with remote online closings! Our notaries are approved to provide notary services in every U.S. state.

How It Works

Before we can notarize utilizing our remote online system, each signer must have certain technology available and be able to verify they are eligible. As an online notary, we must utilize a third-party verification system to prove the identity of the signer and verify the signers' credentials. The necessary technology is provided as part of our online notary service(scroll to read system requirements); however, each signer must comply with the following list of additional requirements:

  • must be a U.S. citizen
  • must have a valid social security number
  • must have credit history. note: if the signers credit reports are locked, they will fail to meet the necessary credit history requirements
  • must have a valid U.S. mobile number
  • each signer involved in the transaction is required to have either: (1) Firefox or Google Chrome when using Windows PC, (2) the latest Safari when using Mac OS, (3) Google Chrome on Android, or (4) if using an iPad or iPhone the device must have IOS 11 or higher with Safari version 11 or higher
  • document qualification. Some small counties require an original document. If the document has to be recorded in a county that does not permit e-recording, then our team will not be able to provided online notary services for that particular transaction

System requirements:

  • Each signer involved in the transaction is required to have either: (1) Firefox or Google's Chrome Browser (click here to download) when using Windows PC, (2) the latest Safari when using Mac OS, (3) Google's Chrome Browswer on Android, or (4) if using an iPad or iPhone the device must have IOS 11 or higher with Safari version 11 or higher
  • The device used for the transaction must have both video and audio capabilities.
  • A strong internet connection is highly recommended. We do not suggest using smartphone data capabilities such as hotspots.

Pricing:

  • Online notaries may charge up to $25 for each notarization they perform in addition to regular notary charges. Online notaries are not required to charge for their services, but they are allowed to charge up to $25 plus the regular notary fees authorized by Tex. Gov’t Code §406.024.

           For example:

  • If an online notary notarizes the signature of one person, the charge will be $31, i.e. $25 + $6 = $31;
  • If an online notary notarizes the signatures of two persons named in the same notarial certificate, the charge will be $32, i.e. $25 + $6 +$1 = $32;
  • If an online notary notarizes the signatures of two persons, and there are separate notarial certificates for each signing party, the charge will be $62, i.e. $25 +$6 for the first notarization and $25 +$6 for the second notarization, which totals $62.

Signing your document:

  • Please do not sign your documents before uploading to TX Virtual Notary. During the online notarization process, you will be instructed when to sign you document. This process requires no additional hardware for you, just a keyboard.

Recording of the online notarization:

  • In accordance with §406.108, of the Texas Government Code, and Chapter 87 of the Texas Administrative Code, our online notary services will be recorded utilizing video conference technology and video storage technology, as required by law.
